In some cases, it may not be possible to save a tooth. However, using an implant, it's possible to replace the missing tooth without the need to prepare the surrounding teeth for a bridge. At Luna Clinic, we offer comfortable and long-lasting solutions for our patients with dental implants.

Are You a Suitable Candidate for Dental Implants?

  • You have good overall health.

  • Your gums are healthy.

  • Your jawbone is strong enough to support the implant.

  • You are committed to brushing and flossing your teeth regularly after the implant procedure.

Dental implants are metal posts that are placed into your jawbone and topped with artificial teeth. Even if you've experienced jawbone loss, this area can be strengthened with a bone graft to allow for implant placement. The prostheses and bridges placed on the implant will not slip or move in your mouth, giving you a more comfortable and confident feeling when eating and speaking. Regular check-up visits after implant treatment are crucial.

Multiple Visits May Be Required - Case-Specific

Initially, after applying local anesthesia, the implant is carefully placed into the jawbone. The area where the implant is placed is closed with stitches for approximately two to three months to allow for healing. After three months, a test is performed to check if the implant has fused with the bone (osseointegration). At this stage, a small healing cap is placed over the implant to allow the gum tissue to shape and prepare for the final crown.

At the next visit, the healing cap is removed and a custom-made impression cap is placed on your implant. X-rays and impressions are taken to ensure that your teeth fit correctly. Additionally, photographs are taken to send to the dental technician for the creation of a natural-looking crown. The healing cap is replaced, and another appointment is scheduled for the placement of the crown two weeks later.

During the final visit, the healing cap is removed, the implant is disinfected, and the permanent abutment and crown are tried in. An X-ray is taken to check for any gaps between the abutment and implant.

Dental crowns can be either screw-retained or cement-retained. We will select the most suitable option for your specific case.
